Why AskCraft researches audiences and teaches interviewing

2 min read

Two ways to work with the same craft: commission research or learn the skill.

Clients and learners have different tasks

A creator or company may need to make a decision now: change a series, understand enquiries or prepare a new offer. A new researcher needs to learn how to frame a question, interview without asking leading questions and explain the basis for a finding. The same method supports both, but the services meet different needs.

Commissioned research has an agreed deliverable

Client work starts with the decision, then the experience needed, recruitment and the agreed deliverables. Conversations alone are not the outcome. What matters is how observations are compared and what the team can do with them.

The separate introductory format lets you see AskCraft at work through five interviews and a discussion of initial observations. It is a way to meet the team, not a complete study or a required first step.

A course develops the ability to do the work

A learner does not simply receive a finished report. They prepare questions, conduct a conversation, examine material and revise after feedback. Stages make progress and remaining practice needs visible. Finishing a stage on schedule does not, by itself, demonstrate the skill.

One demonstration can serve both audiences

Clients review a report to understand what they pay for and how to assess the output. Learners study it to understand analysis. Both need sources, contradictions and limitations, not only persuasive conclusions.

Choose an entry point

These are different ways to begin a conversation with AskCraft. You do not need to buy one service before discussing another.
